Proverbs 3:9-10 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Tithing and offering are two different types of contributions. An example of tithing would be 10% of your gross from your paycheck. An offering is a gift that is above the 10%. You are to tithe 10% of your gross to include salary, birthday and holiday money, any inheritance received, etc. Basically any money that you receive into your household. The bible states to give the Lord his 10% first meaning gross - not from your net. I heard this from Dr. Tony Evans - "Get cheap with God and he will get cheap with you"! The scripture from the bible says in Leviticus 27:32 - And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the Lord. In Malachi 3:8 it says "Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, 'In what way have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings. Matthew 22:21 Jesus said Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. The term "storehouse" has been referred to by several sources as your regular church or where you receive your spiritual nourishment. Deuteronomy 12:6 And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks: Nehemiah 10:37 And that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; Luke 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. I can tell you that we have never been more blessed financially then when we started tithing. Our getting right in tithing came when our revolving debt balance was more then 40,000.00 dollars! We faithfully gave and the Lord just multiplied what we had and we always had our needs met while paying off our debt. Please remember that you will not and cannot ever out give our Lord God almighty. 2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. Deuteronomy 14:22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.

Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Proverbs 22:9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Colossians 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

Matthew 5:42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Psalm 112:5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

Proverbs 26:1&3-4 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool. A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back. Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

Proverbs 22:1-2 A Good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.

Psalm 15:5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Luke 16:12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

Proverbs 2:11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Ecclesiastes 5:19-20 Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God. For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart.

Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

1 Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Psalm 37:3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Psalm 71:1 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

Zechariah 7:10 And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

Ephesians 6:5-9 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
